Kathy Pike
Founder, Pathways to Radiance,LLC
I
have always valued the lessons found in nature. During my
twenties, I spent a great amount of time skiing, running rivers,
biking, and horseback riding. These adventures took me all
over the world and into remote locations in Alaska, Utah,
Wyoming and Europe. Accomplishing physical goals increased
my confidence and self-esteem. Quiet reflective moments feed
my spirit and filled me with energy.
In
my thirties my focus shifted to helping and being of services
to others. I receive a certification for Massage Therapy through
the Heartwood Institutes in Garberville, California, and was
then licensed in the state of Utah. Two years later I moved
to Boulder, Colorado where I developed my Massage Therapy
practice and studied Polarity Therapy and many other modalities
of alternative healing. During this time, I also taught at
the Boulder College of Massage Therapy and at Naropa School
of Extended Studies.
I
continued to seek new and different ways to help people. This
led me to become a personal and professional coach through
CoachU. I later became a class leader for CoachU. My coaching
work naturally helps people to integrate their intuition and
emotional awareness as they are making important life changing
decisions. In 2001 I was drawn to move to the ocean and write.
I lived for one year on the coast of Oregon where I wrote
my first book, Pathways to a Radiant Self, A Journey of Growth
and Discovery with the Chakras. Since then I have contributed
to several magazine and publications such as Massage Magazine
and Massage Therapy Journal.
During
my early adventures years, I experienced a traumatic riding
accident with a horse. The day of the accident I left my helmet
and boots at the barn and never returned. Even though horses
had always been my dream, I stayed away from them for ten
years. Five years ago, horses began to appear in my life in
very serendipitous ways. I listened to what life was presenting
me and began to work with horses again. Learning natural horsemanship
skills and also applying the Mind Body Method (a coaching
process I developed in 2002) helped me heal my past trauma
and form new highly rewarding relationships with these magnificent
creatures. I saw the healing potential of bringing horses
and humans together.
The
desire to continue to increase my experience in this arena
lead me to work with Linda Kohanov and Kathleen Barry Ingram
at Epona Equestrian Services in Arizona. There I completed
the year long study program and am now an Approved Epona Instructor.
The processes I now use in working with people are a wonderful
blend of all of my experiences with nature, mindfulness, intuition,
and emotional intelligence. My clientele includes entrepenuers,
executives, health care professionals, and individuals in
sales, management and consulting positions. I work over the
phone, or in person. I also facilitate groups and speak to
larger audiences on topics of emotional intelligence, listening
to your heart's compass and inspiring stories of leadership,
personal power and healing through the way of the horse. For
